A NEW LOOK GRIFFIN TAKES FLIGHT
The Griffin Global Group Ltd. has announced the launching of a re-branding initiative designed to bet
ter reflect recent business developments and its focus for the future.
“We wanted to retain the heritage of our almost 30 years as a major force
in the specialized field of marine and offshore travel, whilst signaling that
we have streamlined and updated the company as a whole”, said George Boyes,
global CEO and shareholder.
The company's new logo is accompanied by a new tagline – “Getting People in Place. On Time. Worldwide.” The line reflects the company's expertise in handling the urgent, time-sensitive and often complex logistics of connecting ship's crew, rig workers and other administrative and ancillary personnel, with commercial vessels, offshore platforms and cruise ships around the world.
Our Global Power Delivering Real Benefits to Market
Griffin’s global reach – a network of strategically located offices, operating 24/7, staffed by dedicated marine and offshore travel specialists – is the result of a range of strategic actions by the company:
- The advent of the Griffin Global Group in January 2003, bringing all offices under the common ownership and management of a single parent company.
- The September 2003 merger with Instone International's former franchisee to form Griffin Americas.
- The opening over the last year of four new offices in emerging marine and offshore markets, namely Beijing and Shanghai in China; Macae, Brazil; and Vladivostok in Far East Russia. Further expansion is planned for 2005-06.
- In November 2004 Griffin took over the marine and corporate business of The InterARGO Travel Group.
- The development of a Mumbai-based Global Support Centre that enables the rationalisation of many internal functions.
Size is an advantage in this marketplace. Increasing ticketing volumes lead to enhanced purchasing power, and accordingly more favourable airline relationships. According to Bob Westendarp, CEO of Griffin Americas, “Our range of airline relationships equates to more options in pricing, flexibility, routing and servicing. Our worldwide network of office locations also creates an ability to work in multiple currencies, enabling us to provide our clients with more favourable pricing as global currencies move.”
Powerful Management Tools
Traditionally as part of its service, Griffin has
helped clients determine more efficient ways to purchase
and manage marine travel. Stephen Boyes, director
and shareholder, commented “We know clients
rely on us to know more and do more when it comes
to marine travel. We’ve become a more modern
company to continue to serve them well.”
“Griffin has always been a customer-focused company,” said Mr. Westendarp. “We made the decision to grow and to continue to develop management information tools that deliver what our customers tell us they need, when and how they need it.”
